Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, every other weekend, and every other holiday.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs related to each patient’s diagnosis through collaboration with patient/family and the interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program utilizing the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Assure personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to the team environment and unit functioning.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN License.
• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience.
