Job Description

As a Critical Care Nurse (ICU/CCU), you will provide direct and individualized nursing care to critically ill patients. You will apply scientific nursing principles in a hospital setting to ensure the highest standard of care is delivered.

Responsibilities

• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications through various routes (oral, subcutaneously, IV) and record medications accurately.
• Provide basic bedside care and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by physicians.
• Record patients' medical information and vital signs accurately.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patients' conditions.
• Support physicians during examinations and treatments by preparing equipment and assisting as necessary.
• Respond to life-saving situations according to established nursing standards and protocols.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment, interpret electronic displays, and maintain proper function of monitoring devices.
• Initiate corrective action based on monitoring equipment indicators.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
• A valid professional nursing license within the state of practice or nurse licensure compact.
• Additional requirements for compact licenses include verification of suicide training and demographic data via Nursys e-Notify.
• Proof of right to work in the United States.
• Critical care experience in a hospital setting is required.
