Professional Staff Nurse - Rotating Shift

Job Description

The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse and a member of the care delivery team, responsible for setting the standards for the level and quality of nursing care. This role encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, and supervision, ensuring the provision of nursing care through independent judgment and effective communication with all team members.

Responsibilities

• Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies and behaviors.
• Actively participate in department-specific quality improvement efforts.
• Utilize research and evidence-based practices to support clinical care improvement.
• Apply the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care.
• Formulate daily goals and care plans involving patients and families.
• Demonstrate critical thinking in identifying patient care issues.
• Maintain comprehensive patient documentation to enhance communication.
• Engage as a full partner on the care team, embracing change and flexibility.
• Teach patients and families effectively, facilitating transitions of care.
• Develop and maintain productive relationships with colleagues.
• Communicate any safety hazards identified in the workplace.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Compliance with PA Acts 31, 33, 34, and 73.

Schedule

Rotating Shift - 12-hour shifts, 3 days a week.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
