Job Description

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing expert nursing care to patients during labor and delivery. The ideal candidate will independently perform sterile vaginal exams and triage patients without supervision, ensuring the highest quality of obstetric care.

Responsibilities

• Perform sterile vaginal examinations and triage obstetrical patients.
• Provide labor support and deliver babies while managing high-risk situations.
• Administer medications and IV therapies as needed.
• Be proficient in the use of Epic for charting and documentation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Educate and support patients and families through the labor and delivery process.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
• Current RN license required; Compact license accepted.
• Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BCLS, NRP.
• Expertise in performing sterile vaginal exams independently.
• Must be available to work weekends and major holidays.
