Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in delivering quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. This position emphasizes patient and employee safety, promoting a positive work environment while maintaining standards of care.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
- Identify teaching needs and goals in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide timely and accurate documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses.
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and prioritize patient education on health care needs.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
- Communicate changes in patient status effectively to ensure continuity of care and safety.
- Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
- Promote a safe environment by adhering to hospital policies and procedures regarding personal and environmental safety.
- Maintain open communication with management regarding service needs and supplies.
- Assume charge responsibilities as needed and actively pursue professional development opportunities.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
- ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
- Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
Schedule
This position operates on a Day shift with a 3x12.0 hour schedule.
