Job Description

The LTAC/Telemetry Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care to patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures. The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for safe delivery of care. Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and delegates patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of the staff available. Provides direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the Nursing Process in patient care.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and scientific judgment in patient management.
• Ensure the delivery of safe patient care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
• Delegate patient care responsibilities appropriately.
• Supervise and direct personnel in delivering patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Two to five years of nursing experience.
• Must have ACLS & BLS certifications (must be through the American Heart Association).
• Must have vent/trach experience.
• Two years of recent Tele/LTAC experience in a hospital setting.
• Must possess an Indiana or multi-state compact RN license.
