Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises and supports Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants while fostering a safe and efficient environment for both patients and staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform a thorough nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
- Identify and address teaching needs and goals relevant to each patient's diagnosis.
- Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, assuring quality patient care through evaluation and education.
- Initiate discharge planning on the day of admission and provide necessary patient education in anticipation of discharge.
- Communicate pertinent patient information clearly and effectively to ensure continuity of care.
- Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
- Ensure personal and environmental safety by adhering to hospital policies and best practices.
- Engage in team building activities to promote a positive work environment and unit functioning.
- Contribute to cost-effective delivery of care while monitoring supplies and clinical operations.
- Assume charge responsibilities as needed and pursue ongoing professional development.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current RN license required.
- BLS certification required prior to the first shift.
- ACLS certification required prior to the first shift for specific units.
- Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience required.
- ICU experience is a requirement.
Schedule
This position is a Day Shift working 3x12 hour shifts.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
