Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical Unit

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12 hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15) with weekend coverage every other weekend.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide patient care on a medical/surgical unit primarily focusing on adults and geriatrics. The RN will be responsible for handling higher acuity med-surg patients and specialized care for stroke and TIA patients. This position emphasizes a high-quality patient experience and may involve float responsibilities to other units based on need and skill set.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care for a caseload of 6 patients during night shifts.
• Administer medications and treatments as required.
• Perform special procedures as needed, including continuous bladder irrigation and peritoneal dialysis.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort through effective communication and assessment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license in Tennessee.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, with at least 1 year of experience using EPIC EMR.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS are required.
• Previous charge experience is required.
