Sterile Processing Technician

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day Shift: 5x8 Hours (07:00 - 15:30) or Night Shift: 5x8 Hours (19:00 - 03:30)

Job Description

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper cleaning, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment. The technician will utilize aseptic techniques and various sterilization methods to maintain high standards of safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process surgical instruments through cleaning, sterilization, and storage.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols for sterile processing.
• Document sterilization processes according to established guidelines.
• Use various cleaning and sterilization equipment effectively, including ultrasonic cleaners and sterilizers.
• Assemble instrument trays and ensure proper labeling and organization.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year experience in sterile processing.
• Certifications such as IAHCSMM or HSPA are required.
• Experience in an acute hospital or ambulatory surgery center is preferred.
• Ability to use various sterilization techniques and infection control protocols.
