Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15), weekends required every other week.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is responsible for providing comprehensive care to acutely ill patients with complex cardiovascular problems and other critical conditions. The RN will work with a patient ratio of 1:2 and will be expected to float between various units as needed, focusing on adult patients.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage complex cardiovascular patients, including those experiencing cardiac arrest, myocardial infarction, and acute respiratory failure.
• Administer medications, including vasopressors and cardiac medications, while managing and initiating sedation protocols.
• Assist with bedside procedures such as Central Line and Arterial Line placements, and blood product administration.
• Conduct CVP monitoring and use specialized equipment like Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps, CRRT, and Zoll Defibrillators.
• Ensure proper infection control and isolation precautions are followed in patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience.
• Current ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Experience with Epic charting system is preferred.
• Must possess a valid RN license in Ohio or have a pending license if currently licensed in Michigan.
