Shift: 5x8s, 3 PM - 11:30 PM with rotating weekends.

Job Description

The Sterile Processing Technician plays a critical role in the healthcare facility by overseeing the sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrapping of surgical instruments and equipment. This role demands a high level of detail and adherence to safety protocols to ensure instruments are properly processed for use in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform sterilization, decontamination, and assembly of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality control standards.
• Participate in scope reprocessing activities.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to meet procedural demands.
• Handle call responsibilities as designated and float to meet facility needs when necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing, including sterilization and decontamination.
• Experience with scope reprocessing is required.
• Preferred experience with neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, orthopedics, transplant, and gynecological cases.
• National Certifications: CBSPD and/or HSPA are required.
• Current South Carolina licensure preferred; candidates with a pending application may also be considered.
