Job Description

The competent Nurse, practicing independently in a clinical setting, is responsible for providing both routine and complex care. The Nurse demonstrates an understanding of all relevant aspects of patient care situations while developing the ability to manage clinical contingencies. This role involves making appropriate assignments and delegating tasks to other care providers as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of assigned patients.
• Addresses the complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families according to their level of practice.
• Administers medications and treatments as per protocols; monitors for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identifies issues and resources.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• One year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only).
• Current RN License in the state of Texas or compact.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
