Job Description

The CVOR Registered Nurse provides critical care and support in the operating room for cardiovascular surgical procedures. The nurse is responsible for the observation, assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care for patients undergoing surgery. The role requires proficiency in charting, multitasking, and critical thinking, alongside excellent bedside manner.

Responsibilities

• Participate in various surgical procedures including joint replacement, ENT, ortho, spine, urology, vascular, podiatry, thoracic surgery, and plastic surgery.
• Scrub and assist in all service lines, demonstrating proficiency in comprehensive surgical techniques.
• Utilize advanced surgical equipment such as Impella, ECMO, bypass pumps, and laser technology.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of patients throughout the surgical process.
• Handle on-call responsibilities based on staffing needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must possess current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of current experience in an acute OR setting.
• Ability to scrub and work proficiently in all surgical specialties, excluding CVOR.
