Surgical Technologist - Days

Job Description

The Surgical Technologist prepares the equipment, instruments, and supplies during surgery as well as protects the sterile area. Incumbents must have a clear understanding of the surgical procedure being performed in order to anticipate the needs of the performing surgeon.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical instruments and equipment for use during procedures.
• Maintain the sterile field and prevent contamination.
• Assist in anticipating the needs of the surgeon during operations.
• Ensure that all necessary supplies are available and ready for use.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program recognized by CAAHEP or ABHES, or certification from NBSTA.
• Proficiency in medical terminology and electronic medical record documentation preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• 3 to 5 years of surgical technologist experience required.
