Radiation Therapist - Oncology

Shifts will be scheduled as 8-hour days, including weekends and holidays as required.

Job Description

The Radiation Therapist will be responsible for providing radiation therapy treatments to a diverse patient population, utilizing advanced technology and practices in the field of oncology. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in various radiation therapy techniques and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients using Varian Treatment Machines, including the TrueBeam linear accelerator.
• Ensure accurate delivery of prescribed radiation doses.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout treatment processes.
• Document treatment progress and patient responses in the electronic medical records system (Aria EMR).
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in the multidisciplinary approach to cancer care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• ARRT registered Radiation Therapist with a valid West Virginia state license.
• Current BLS certification.
• Experience with advanced radiation therapy techniques, including IMRT, IGRT, SRS, and SBRT.
• Proficient in using Varian Treatment Machines (TrueBeam preferred) and Aria EMR; Epic experience is a plus.
• Experience managing an average patient load of 25 patients per machine.
