Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Nights

Schedule

This position offers a night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with 2 to 4 shifts scheduled per month, rotating between staff members.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will practice independently in a Med/Surg setting, providing routine and complex care while managing a patient load of 5 to 6 patients. The nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. The role includes administering medications and treatments, monitoring for side effects, and providing education to patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, and social needs of patients.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and health management.
• Manage and delegate tasks effectively within the care team.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license required.
• BLS Certification via AHA required.
