Registered Nurse - ICU Stepdown Unit

This is a 13-week contract position with a night shift from 18:45 to 07:15.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our ICU Stepdown Unit. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in critical care settings and the ability to manage complex medical situations effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients requiring arterial lines and titrating vasoactive drips.
• Provide telemetry monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias.
• Administer IV insulin and blood products as needed.
• Perform central and peripheral line care and management.
• Utilize rapid response teams effectively as patient situations demand.
• Provide care for a diverse patient population including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
• Ensure adherence to isolation precautions and proper PPE usage.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an ICU/Stepdown environment.
• Current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications are required.
• Experience in managing acute patient conditions including respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, and post-operative care.
• Proficient in cardiac and vasoactive drip titration.
• Strong IV start skills and experience with conscious sedation.
