Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position for a Registered Nurse (RN) functioning as both a caregiver and care manager. The RN will assume responsibility for a group of patients, implementing the Nursing Process and ensuring optimal patient care during the assigned shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform assessment and data collection focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, and cognitive status.
• Implement care in a knowledgeable and consistent manner according to established procedures and care plans.
• Identify patient and significant other learning needs and implement teaching as per policies.
• Document patient care accurately in electronic medical records and/or paper processes.
• Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity to patient rights regardless of individual characteristics.
• Delegate and supervise the work of other caregivers effectively.
• Utilize sound critical thinking for organization and priority setting.
• Maintain professional growth through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements and organizational policies.
• Maintain professionalism in conduct and appearance while representing the organization.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Washington State RN Licensure.
• Healthcare Provider Level of BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Preferred experience in acute care nursing with at least one year for specialty departments.
• Advanced certifications such as AAP NRP, ACLS, and others as relevant for specialty areas.

Schedule

Nights, with the possibility of up to two shifts canceled per month or up to six shifts within the contract period.
