PACU Registered Nurse (RN)

12-hour Day Shift: Monday to Friday, from 10:00 AM to 10:30 PM

Job Description

The PACU Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality care for patients recovering from surgery in a fast-paced environment. The unit specializes in a variety of higher acuity cases including Thoracic, Orthopedic, Neurology, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in the PACU or an equivalent specialty.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients' vital signs and provide post-operative care.
• Administer medications and assist with pain management protocols.
• Coordinate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
• Document patient progress and communicate effectively with caregivers and family members.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of recent PACU nursing experience.
• Active AHA ACLS and BLS certifications.
• NIHSS Certification required.
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred.

Holiday Expectations

MUST work 2 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (The Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve).
