Registered Nurse - Outpatient Surgery

Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position for a Registered Nurse specializing in outpatient surgery. The ideal candidate will have experience in pre-operative and post-anesthesia care, with the ability to provide support across various surgical specialties.

Schedule

Shifts will vary, with primary hours from 08:30 AM to 05:00 PM. Flexibility is essential, as start times can range from 06:00 AM to 08:30 AM, depending on departmental needs. No weekends or holidays required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the pre-operative and post-anesthesia recovery unit (PACU).
• Administer medications and monitor patient vitals.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to facilitate efficient surgical processes.
• Educate patients and families on pre-operative and post-operative care.
• Perform patient assessments and document care using Epic charting system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must hold a valid California state nursing license.
• At least 1 year of previous nursing experience required.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS are necessary.
