Contract RN - Emergency Room

Shift: 1:00 PM - 1:00 AM, with rotating weekends. No call requirements.

Job Description

The Emergency Room (ER) seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a contract position focused on providing high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced environment. The ER is equipped with 48 private rooms, 27 hallway stretchers, 9 fast track, and 5 behavioral health rooms. The selected candidate will work collaboratively with a team of 111 staff members, including Charge Nurses, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), and others, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Participate in trauma assists and critical interventions.
• Administer medications and perform necessary procedures, including EKGs, central lines, and airway support.
• Support behavioral health de-escalation processes.
• Utilize state-of-the-art equipment such as Alaris pumps and rapid infusers in patient care.
• Monitor patient progress and collaborate with the healthcare team.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must possess current Texas RN license.
• ACLS, BLS, ENPC, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Preferred experience in Meditech, trauma care, and holding inpatient experience.
• CPI certification is a plus.
