Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU) Registered Nurse (RN)

Schedule

Night shifts: 3x12 hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

Job Description

The Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU) RN will provide specialized nursing care to pediatric patients with congenital heart disease and related conditions. This role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage critically ill pediatric patients with congenital heart disease.
• Administer medications and perform medical procedures related to cardiac care.
• Provide post-operative care following cardiac surgeries.
• Utilize advanced technologies and equipment such as ECMO and CRRT.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to create and implement care plans.
• Educate families about care processes and assist with emotional support.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience is required.
• Current SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license is required.
• Certifications in PALS and BLS are mandatory (AHA accepted).
• ACLS certification highly preferred.
• Experience with Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD) is advantageous.
