Central Sterile Processing Technician

Schedule

This position requires the following shifts:

• 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM, with call/lates and weekend requirements (1 position available)
• 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, with call/lates and weekend requirements (2 positions available)

Job Description

The Central Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for cleaning, decontaminating, assembling, and sterilizing surgical instruments and medical equipment in accordance with manufacturers' instructions.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and decontaminates surgical instruments and other medical equipment following manufacturer's Instructions For Use (IFU).
• Inspects, assembles, packages, and sterilizes medical devices according to manufacturer’s IFUs.
• Operates automated washers, ultrasonic cleaners, and sterilizers according to manufacturer’s IFUs.
• Inspects surgical instrumentation during tray assembly to ensure proper functioning and cleanliness.
• Pulls surgical case carts for add-ons and/or emergency cases.
• Communicates effectively with other staff members to facilitate timely instrument and supply needs.
• Completes daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of all departmental areas and maintains cleaning logs.
• Other duties may be assigned as necessary to facilitate departmental and hospital functions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of Central Sterile/Sterile Processing experience.
• Prior travel experience required.
• Certification from CBSPD or HSPA is required.
• BLS certification is required.
