Job Description

The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery will assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care for patients, adhering to organizational policies and professional nursing standards. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered and utilizes specialized knowledge and judgment to provide age-appropriate care for assigned patients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients in the Labor and Delivery unit.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on patient needs.
• Monitor and evaluate patients’ progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and health management.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide optimal care to patients.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years recent high volume Labor and Delivery experience.
• Must be willing to obtain Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Certification within 48 hours if offered.
• Must be willing to obtain NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification within 48 hours if offered.
• Current RN license in Maryland, with verification dated within the last 30 days.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Active American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Active Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification.
• Active NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• COVID vaccination required, with state record verification.
