Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards. The role is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others under their direction. Specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills are necessary to assess data and provide care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document nursing care of patients in the Labor and Delivery unit.
• Plan and implement individualized patient care based on needs.
• Evaluate outcomes and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and professional standards.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
• Supervise and direct nursing staff as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of recent high volume Labor and Delivery experience.
• Must be willing to obtain Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Certification.
• Must be willing to obtain NIH Stroke Scale/Score (NIHSS) Certification.
• Active RN license in Maryland.
• Current certifications in ACLS and BLS from the American Heart Association.
• COVID vaccination is required; declinations will not be accepted.
• Previous travel nursing experience is preferred.

Schedule

This is a full-time position requiring commitment to the facility's schedule.
