Job Description

The clinical nurse educator is a registered nurse who operates independently with minimal oversight. This role involves utilizing clinical expertise to assess practice gaps, identify learning needs, and evaluate educational outcomes, ensuring high-quality clinical practice for optimal patient care. Key responsibilities include staff onboarding and orientation, competency management, department-specific educational training, and implementation of evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate positive learning environments and mentorship for nursing staff.
• Manage staff onboarding and orientation processes.
• Develop and implement competency evaluation programs.
• Provide department-specific educational training and support.
• Ensure compliance with AHA life safety standards.
• Participate in various committees such as risk management and quality improvement.
• Support clinical education efforts and program presentations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Current, unrestricted Professional Nursing License in any state of the USA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• A minimum of three (3) years of acute care nursing experience (ICU, PCU, ER, or PACU).
• At least one (1) year of clinical education experience within the last two (2) years.
• Experience in providing staff orientation and on-the-job training.
