Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality patient care through adherence to the nursing care plan. This role includes supervision of Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), as well as providing guidance to orientees. The RN will conduct nursing assessments, develop individualized care plans, and ensure patient education and safety are prioritized.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient’s diagnosis.
• Provide timely updates on patient status during team conferences.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and succinctly.
• Participate actively in the patient rehabilitation program.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Facilitate seamless communication regarding patient status among care providers.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, effectively delegating tasks.
• Promote and adhere to safety protocols ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Engage in team-building activities to enhance unit cohesion and efficiency.
• Assume charge responsibilities as needed after orientation.
• Seek professional development through continuing education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid RN license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required prior to the first shift.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required for specific units.
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience required.

Schedule

This position is for day shifts, working 3x12 hour shifts.
