Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift, 13-Week Contract
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. This role includes supervising Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), while effectively participating in a collaborative interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct a nursing assessment for all patients within 8 hours of admission to formulate an individualized care plan.
- Identify patient teaching needs and integrate goals in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner in the medical record.
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission, anticipating the discharge date.
- Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide direction and training to ancillary nursing personnel while promoting a positive and efficient work environment.
- Assure both personal and environmental safety in adherence to established hospital policies and procedures.
- Engage in professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS certification required prior to first shift.
- ACLS certification required prior to first shift for certain locations.
- Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
- Experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is required.
Schedule
This position requires a Day shift, working 3 shifts of 12 hours each.
