AM Shift (07:15 – 15:45), 5 × 8-hour shifts per week, totaling 40 hours.
Job Description
The sonographer performs ultrasound procedures according to established protocol to obtain diagnostic information as ordered by a licensed physician or their designated health care provider. The sonographer provides information to the patient about the purpose of the ultrasound procedure and responds to the patient's questions and concerns. The sonographer recognizes the patient's individuality and provides quality care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner using professional and ethical judgment. The diagnostic medical sonographer maintains continued competence through lifelong learning, which includes continuing education, acquisition of specialty-specific credentials, and recredentialing. The diagnostic sonographer working in the department of Radiology is required to perform diverse imaging across the spectrum of sonography.
Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound procedures according to established protocols.
- Provide patient education and address questions or concerns.
- Deliver high-quality, non-discriminatory care to all patients.
- Maintain professional and ethical standards in all interactions.
- Stay updated with continuing education and specialty credentials.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
- Graduate of a 2-year AMA approved Ultrasound program Required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) Required.
- Experience in breast ultrasound and breast biopsy procedures required.
- Experience with Philips EPIQ ultrasound systems preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience preferred.
