Emergency Department Registered Nurse - Evening/Night Shift

Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position.

• Evening Shifts: 11 PM - 11 AM or 3 PM - 3 AM
• Night Shifts: 7 PM - 7 AM
• Every other weekend and holiday requirement

Job Description

The Emergency Department is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for assessing patients, administering medication, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients presenting with a variety of conditions including chest pain, abdominal pain, psychiatric issues, acute mental status changes, strokes, and trauma.
• Administer medications and manage intravenous drips, including Propofol, Levophed, Heparin, Nitro, Insulin, and Cardizem.
• Collaborate with attending physicians and the hospitalist team for patient care management.
• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Meditech electronic medical record system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN licensure in good standing.
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS certifications required.
• Prior experience in an Emergency Department preferred.
