Neuro ICU Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

3x12 hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:00).

Job Description

The Neuro ICU Registered Nurse will provide high-quality care for patients in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit. The nurse will be responsible for managing critically ill patients with neurological conditions, requiring a high level of expertise and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and manage the care of ventilated patients.
• Perform patient assessments and establish nursing diagnoses.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Maintain accurate patient records and charting in Epic.
• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding care plans and procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of Neuro ICU experience preferred.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• State or Compact RN license in hand at the time of application.
• Travel experience preferred.
• Previous charge experience is a plus.

Patient Care Activities

• Blood product administration.
• Central line care and management.
• Management of acute stroke and CVA patients.
• Monitoring and management of ICP and EVDs.
• Post-operative care for craniotomies and other neurosurgical procedures.
