Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse - Stroke Stepdown

6:30 AM - 7:00 PM, Day shift, Block scheduling not guaranteed.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse with a focus on stroke stepdown care. This position involves providing critical care to patients recovering from strokes and other medical conditions. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in med-surg nursing and experience in managing stroke patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to stroke stepdown patients.
• Monitor patient vitals and administer medications as prescribed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Utilize specialty equipment including IV pumps and feeding tubes.
• Educate patients and families on post-stroke recovery and care plans.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical nursing with stroke stepdown experience.
• Current AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications (NIHSS can be obtained prior to start).
• Active RN license with a driver's license that matches demographic information.
• Documented travel experience is required.
