Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Schedule

Days: 8 hours M-F, with flexible times as long as they are consistent and communicated with the Director of Rehabilitation.

Job Description

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will utilize evidence-based practices to support clinical interventions, providing rehabilitative treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders. Under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist, the PTA will administer various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled and medically necessary treatment interventions under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Administer a variety of rehabilitation procedures, including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, and modalities.
• Assess patient progress and communicate findings with the supervising Physical Therapist for treatment adjustments.
• Document all required information in the electronic documentation system and maintain patient records.
• Participate in patient care conferences and other required meetings related to rehabilitation.
• Support and supervise students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist.
• Adhere to APTA and state required practice acts and ethics during professional practice.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is required.
• Experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation settings is required.
• Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license is required at the time of submission.
• New graduates considered if they have Level II experience.
