LPN Medical Surgical - Night Shift

Schedule

Night shift: 1900 - 0700, with every other weekend and holiday requirement.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced LPN for a Medical Surgical unit. The candidate will be responsible for providing quality nursing care to medical patients, including those with COPD exacerbation, infections, and social issues. The role requires the ability to take on patient assignments, supported by an RN.

Responsibilities

• Perform vital signs, pain assessment, and intake/output monitoring.
• Administer medications via various methods including oral, IM, SQ, and NG/G-tube.
• Provide wound care and manage feeding tubes.
• Conduct telemetry monitoring and interpret 12-lead EKGs.
• Maintain patient safety through isolation precautions and use of physical restraints when necessary.
• Communicate patient status and changes effectively to the RN/MD.
• Assist in Foley catheter insertion and clean catch urine collection.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active New York State LPN license is required.
• Must have BLS certification.
• Experience in acute care within the last two years is mandatory.
• Proficient in EPIC charting system.
• Must be willing to float within the medical surgical skill set.
