Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist
Job Description
Independently perform imaging procedures as a Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist. Competently execute a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
Responsibilities
- Independently perform computed tomography procedures utilizing established scan protocols, including contrast administration.
- Adjust protocols and apply prescribed ionizing radiation appropriately for optimal diagnostic results.
- Utilize complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and documentation of image data.
- Demonstrate proper technique in venipuncture and the use of power injectors according to established protocols.
- Administer contrast media as per physician orders and assess patients for potential risk factors.
- Communicate effectively with patients and co-workers, demonstrating care, dignity, and respect.
- Identify all patients properly using two patient identifiers and utilize universal protocol during procedures.
- Document patient history and ensure exams are properly coded, tracked, and networked for archiving.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT program.
- CT registry must be acquired within 18 months of the date the primary registry was acquired.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience required.
- ARRT Certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, and PA Act 73 clearances.
Schedule
Rotating shifts predominantly consisting of two 12-hour and two 8-hour shifts. Candidate flexibility is welcomed for scheduling, with shifts starting at 7 AM, 9 AM, 11 AM, and 2:30 PM. Occasional night shifts may be required and will rotate with current staff.
