Medical Technologist - Blood Bank

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: 8-hour Evening - 230 PM to 11 PM with every third weekend rotation.

Job Description

The Medical Technologist will be responsible for performing laboratory tests and analyses in the Blood Bank. This role requires a keen attention to detail and adherence to established guidelines and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tests and analyses in the Blood Bank laboratory.
• Ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborate with clinical staff regarding test results and patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Blood Bank or related specialty.
• Certification required: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS.
• Preferred experience in a clinical lab setting for specimen testing and analysis.
• Only candidates with Med Technologist or Med Lab Scientist qualifications will be considered; Med Lab Technicians will not be accepted.

Holiday Expectations

Candidate must be available to work 2 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve).
