Job Description

The Nursing Assistant, under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs routine tasks in patient care, bedside nursing, and documentation of care provided. This role emphasizes the importance of patient and employee safety and embodies the core values of delivering superior quality in all actions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient care and support bedside nursing activities.
• Perform tasks related to patient menu management, including preparation and delivery of menu selections compliant with prescribed diets.
• Communicate patient care and food service issues to the relevant department.
• Follow HIPAA and Joint Commission guidelines during operations.
• Handle clerical assignments in the Food & Nutrition office to maintain organization and efficiency.
• Attend in-services and departmental meetings as required.
• Assist trayline and food service aides as needed.
• Promote a safe work environment by adhering to safety policies and reporting hazards.
• Perform any other duties as requested to ensure comprehensive care and service delivery.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
• BLS certification (CIRH ONLY, unless required by state).
