Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while embracing the core values of patient and employee safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to establish individualized care plans.
- Identify patient/family teaching needs and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide timely and accurate documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
- Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and prioritize patient education based on identified healthcare needs.
- Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and begin patient education in anticipation of discharge.
- Ensure continuity of care by communicating patient status changes to care providers.
- Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, utilizing effective problem-solving techniques.
- Contribute to a positive and efficient work environment through team-building activities.
- Maintain communication regarding service needs, supplies, and clinical training with management.
- Assume charge responsibilities when requested, following an orientation period.
- Prioritize activities effectively to meet patient needs.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current RN license.
- BLS certification required prior to the first shift.
- ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH only).
- Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
