Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is adhered to, overseeing the work of Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. Responsibilities

• Conducts a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identifies teaching needs and collaborates with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provides timely patient information for team conferences and documentation.
• Participates in the patient rehabilitation program, focusing on the nursing process.
• Initiates discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicates changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and safety.
• Supervises and trains ancillary nursing personnel, prioritizing effective operations.
• Maintains safety protocols for personal and environmental safety.
• Communicates with management regarding service needs for supplies and training.
• Assumes charge responsibilities when requested after orientation.
• Actively pursues professional growth through continuing education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required.
• Previous inpatient rehabilitation experience is preferred.
