This is a 13-week contract position, day shift, offering 3 twelve-hour shifts per week.

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, offering intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional license and with minimal supervision. Key responsibilities include evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, and ensuring effective communication with healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory and oxygen devices.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning by different methods.
• Monitor oximetry and capnography according to policy.
• Review patient chest x-rays and perform pulmonary function studies.
• Support procedures such as bronchoscopy and chest tube placement.
• Conduct cardiopulmonary resuscitation following BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Document treatments and patient responses accurately in patient records.
• Facilitate communication with physicians regarding therapy effectiveness.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Must possess a valid Respiratory Therapist license. Demonstrated experience with respiratory care procedures and equipment is necessary.
