Neurointerventional Radiologic Technologist

Schedule

Day shift, 4x10 hours, from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, on call every other weekend.

Job Description

The Neurointerventional Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing a range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under the direction of a physician in the Angio Interventional Radiology or Neuro IR services. Key procedures include extra-cranial and intracranial angiography, vertebroplasty, myelograms, cisternograms, embolizations, cryoablations, coilings, and clot retrievals.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for all IR and neurointerventional procedures.
• Assist in the clinical support of neurointerventional procedures.
• Operate advanced imaging equipment following established guidelines.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and radiation safety practices.
• Instruct students and residents, performing preceptor duties as necessary.
• Perform quality assurance checks on imaging equipment.
• Maintain supply inventory for all procedures.
• Utilize UHS information systems for scheduling and documentation.
• Review coding procedures for accurate billing.
• Engage in continuous learning through lectures and educational resources.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with hospital policies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• ARRT(R) certification.
• New York State license as a Radiologic Technologist.
• BLS Certification from AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross.
• Experience in IR and neurointerventional procedures.
