Neurointerventional Radiologic Technologist

Schedule

Day Rotational: 4x10 hour shifts, 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM, on call every other weekend.

Job Description

The Neurointerventional Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under the direction of a physician in Angio Interventional Radiology or Neuro IR services. This includes, but is not limited to, extra-cranial and intracranial angiography, vertebroplasty, spinal injections, myelograms, cisternograms, embolizations, cryoablations, coilings, and clot retrievals. The technologist serves various customers, including employees, medical staff, patients, and regulatory agencies, and prioritizes activities that directly affect customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for all IR and neurointerventional procedures, including discograms, aspirations, therapeutic injections, angiography, and ablations.
• Assist in maintaining safety standards and radiation safety practices.
• Instruct students and residents, performing preceptor duties as necessary.
• Perform quality assurance checks on imaging equipment.
• Maintain supply inventory for all IR and neuro IR procedures.
• Utilize UHS information systems for IR scheduling and coding procedures for accurate billing.
• Adhere to clinical principles and hospital policies, including incident reporting and patient confidentiality.
• Engage in continuous learning through lectures, seminars, and readings.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• ARRT(R) certification
• New York State license as a Radiologic Technologist
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross)
• Experience in IR and neurointerventional procedures
