Professional Staff Nurse - Rotating Shift

Job Description

The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse and an essential member of the care delivery team, responsible for setting standards for the level and quality of patient care. This role involves managing and providing nursing care activities for a group of patients and their families, utilizing independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members. The Professional Staff Nurse encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, and supervision, establishing and maintaining relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients, and their families to achieve desired outcomes throughout the continuum of care.

Responsibilities

• Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies and behaviors.
• Actively participate in quality improvement efforts and identify opportunities for enhancements.
• Utilize research and evidence-based practices to support improvement in clinical care.
• Apply the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and solid communication skills in patient care.
• Engage actively as a team partner and respond to care team member needs.
• Utilize adult learning principles to effectively teach patients and families.
• Develop and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Registered Nurse (RN) license is required, with BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Additional certifications as per state requirements (e.g., PA Act 31, 33, 34, 73).

Schedule

This position follows a rotating shift schedule, working 12-hour shifts, three days per week.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
