Job Description

Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Nursing Assistant performs routine tasks in patient care, bedside nursing, and documentation of care provided. The role emphasizes patient and employee safety while adhering to organizational values.

Responsibilities

• Embrace the Select Medical Way and Core Values.
• Promote safety in all patient handling and work environments.
• Assist patients with completing menu selections according to prescribed diets.
• Update and validate diet changes in the patient menu system.
• Communicate patient care and food service issues effectively.
• Perform clerical assignments in the Food & Nutrition office.
• Maintain organization and efficiency within the department office.
• Assist trayline, food service aides, or catering as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification (CIRH ONLY unless required by state).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience.
