Job Description

The Physical Therapist evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in accordance with patient needs and physician directions. This role involves the delegation and direction of therapy services, ensuring functional treatment programs that aim for effective patient returns to community activities. The Physical Therapist serves as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers, and performs additional professional duties related to patient care and therapy service development.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive evaluations of patients and develop treatment plans that facilitate progression towards discharge.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address discharge barriers, including equipment trialing and patient/family training.
• Manage treatment sessions effectively, adjusting care based on patient needs.
• Document patient care accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with guidelines and hospital policies.
• Participate in student programs and assist in their education and evaluation.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and advocacy efforts.
• Adhere to state practice acts, maintaining licensure and ethical professional conduct.
• Contribute to performance improvement initiatives within the organization.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current valid State license as a Physical Therapist.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field.
• BLS Certification required before the first shift.
