Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift - 13-Week Contract

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) ensures the delivery of quality care by following the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. This role is essential to maintaining patient safety while delivering superior care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to support individualized care plans.
• Identify patient and family teaching needs by collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient status updates during Initial and Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record accurately and promptly.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program while prioritizing patient education based on identified healthcare needs.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching on the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and safety.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel.
• Maintain personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning and participate in team-building activities.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested following the orientation period.
• Pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience.
• ICU experience and appropriate skills for LTACH required.

Schedule

This position is for a Night shift working 3x12 hour shifts.
