Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift 3x12.0

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. This role involves supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while adhering to the principles of patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals for each patient in collaboration with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates during team conferences and responsible documentation in medical records.
• Engage in patient rehabilitation programs and ensure quality care by applying clinical nursing processes.
• Initiate discharge planning upon admission and commence patient education for anticipated discharge dates.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
• Supervise ancillary nursing personnel, providing training and effective delegation of tasks.
• Promote a safe environment, highlighting the importance of patient handling and infection control.
• Participate in team-building and contribute to a positive and efficient work environment.
• Identify supplies and training needs to maintain effective patient care delivery.
• Engage in professional growth and continuing education opportunities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required for specific settings.
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience preferred.

Schedule

This position requires a night shift, specifically a 3x12 hour schedule.
