Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

Day shift - 4x12 hour shifts (totaling 36 or 48 hours). Flexible hours may apply.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by adhering to the nursing care plan. The RN will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis.
• Provide timely patient information for team conferences and documentation.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and prioritize patient education.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to support continuity of care.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in compliance with hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning and team-building activities.
• Maintain communication with the manager regarding service needs.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested after orientation.
• Engage in professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift.
• A minimum of two (2) years of bedside critical care clinical experience is required.
