Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of high-quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN will supervise licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, and orientees. This position requires a commitment to patient and employee safety, embracing core values such as teamwork, resourcefulness, and treating others as they wish to be treated.
Responsibilities
- Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of individualized care plans.
- Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnosis, collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide timely patient information for initial and re-evaluation team conferences.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in accordance with policy.
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, ensuring direct care through assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
- Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity and safety of care.
- Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, making effective use of time and resources.
- Promote personal and environmental safety, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
- Contribute positively to team dynamics, supporting an efficient work environment.
- Maintain communication with management regarding clinical needs and resource availability.
- Assume charge responsibilities as requested, using effective decision-making and prioritization skills.
- Pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.
- Perform additional duties as requested.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS certification required prior to the first shift.
- ACLS certification required prior to the first shift.
- A minimum of two (2) years of bedside critical care clinical experience is required.
Schedule
This position is a night shift, 4x12 hour schedule.
Assignment Duration
This is an 8-13 week contract position.
