Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring compliance with the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees in a patient-centered environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses collaborating with patients' families and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide timely patient information for Initial Team Conferences and weekly Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in accordance with policies.
• Participate in and ensure the effectiveness of the patient rehabilitation program on the assigned unit.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate pertinent changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel while promoting teamwork and safety.
• Maintain a safe environment in accordance with nursing policies and procedures.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning by fostering a calm and collaborative atmosphere.
• Assume charge responsibilities post-orientation as needed.
• Actively pursue professional growth and continuing education opportunities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
